THE BASSO

The Bassendean Hotel brand identity pays respect to the working-man origins of this Depression-era establishment, in gutsy monochrome. Alluding to railway tracks, hex bolts and a 30s geometric monogram, the Basso branding partners with bold retro typography across signage, menus, coasters, staff Tshirts and posters. The hotel makeover was produced on a (very) limited budget, quite a challenge for a designer with idyllic dreams of designing a pub identity, and only later did I think of being paid in beer.
