I’ve been plotting for weeks to prepare a milestone book for my sister Melissa’s 40th birthday. Finally we could let the cat out of the bag and presented this to her on Sunday evening, at her fab 40 tapas & drinks party. The book is a collection of special moments, memories and contributions from family and dear friends. Her 3 boys Nelson, Oli & Finn kept the secret and wrote the sweetest things about their Mum!

The Blurb bookmaking process was very smooth, with impressive print quality (minimal dot gain, good colour repro). Use the Blurb software, or download the Indesign® plug-in and a Photoshop colour profile, and away you go!

I love a trip to the printers to check on a job. Not just because it’s a chance to escape from the desk – it’s gratifying to see the end-product after the design gestation period.

If your hound dog is hassling you, it may be time to talk to someone who listens! Jen Oliver is a specialist in canine communication. This identity sneakily merges a pair of dogs with a pair of ears (look closely at the dog’s inside shape), and there’s a collage of identify-your-favourite-dog silhouettes on the reverse of the card. Plus some nice tactile embossing.
