The stationery suite for John Rice comprises a die-cut business card, comps slip & brochure, plus an A6 booklet with beautiful images and accompanying text about falling in love & all that fuzzy stuff. The booklets were edge-sewn for a handmade touch. All printed painstakingly by the fellows at Pilpel Print using letterpress & digital printing.

Those great guys from The Kiosk have taken over South City Kiosk at City Beach ~ the retro concrete structure right on the sand, south of the Surf Club.

Open from 7am, now you can reward your early morning swim with a fantastic fresh coffee & muffin peut-être. The jumpin’ crowd from Saturday night’s opening soirée were treated to a beautiful sunset and cool DJ vibes. Paul’s vintage Hawaiian fluoro orange shirt complemented the new décor – Stefano has plans to procure it for a uniform.

The South City brand is a companion to the big-brother Kiosk logo, with the little Apé delivery van a tongue-in-cheek reference to Stef’s Italian heritage. Irreverent & fun.

And here are the final embossed DeRay & Simcoe cards. A very fine print/emboss job by the Pilpel blokes.
We printed these one PMS – each girl’s card alternates the grey & white scheme, for a personalised look.

note: I do believe the girls use equipment a little more updated than my Brownie 127 camera.

I love a trip to the printers to check on a job. Not just because it’s a chance to escape from the desk – it’s gratifying to see the end-product after the design gestation period.

I’ve worked with these talented photographers for years, first developing their brand some years ago, and now on their tweaked, refreshed brand. Now it feels like spring! Sunday morning we returned to our fave beachside place The Kiosk @ Floreat Beach (did I mention they make great pancakes? And it’s the spot for our annual Thunderbird Xmas meetup). Next we walked over the boardwalk to City Beach where Paul snapped the Surf Club building (a threatened species) & these shots of me gazing seaward – yeah it looks so planned but I didn’t even see him behind me.

I was delighted to work together with my friends at Public Creative, to design the brand and package for this ultra-premium skincare product. And it’s totally chemical-free and natural, hand-made by Fremantle company, Sodashi. More soon, with proper pics.
