Grafform Website

Grafform formwork and construction website

The latest website project to launch, built by OM4: the Grafform website. It’s my husband’s company (we’re a living illustration of the adage that opposites attract), and mighty high-time we put something on the web about his work.

Check in for regular updates on the fascinating world of ply, columns, stairs, slabs and concrete. If that’s your thing.

DeRay & Simcoe printed cards

DeRay Simcoe embossed business cards

And here are the final embossed DeRay & Simcoe cards. A very fine print/emboss job by the Pilpel blokes.
We printed these one PMS – each girl’s card alternates the grey & white scheme, for a personalised look.

note: I do believe the girls use equipment a little more updated than my Brownie 127 camera.

New Stationery DeRay&Simcoe

DeRay & Simcoe Identity printing at Pilpel

I love a trip to the printers to check on a job. Not just because it’s a chance to escape from the desk – it’s gratifying to see the end-product after the design gestation period.

Place Laboratory Website now live!

Place Laboratory website

Cool clients PlaceLaboratory have moved to a new place in Northbridge, and we have just launched their website.

Working with the OM4 guys (& gals), we implemented a magazine-style WP website where new content will continually update and refresh the homepage. It’s not just a blog, it will be an active, regenerating, flourishing one. Kind of a perfect metaphor for what these guys do…

Have a look at what Anna, Mike and Lei are shaping at the moment >>

Making eNewsletters Fun

Rob Frith Acorn eNewsletter

Acorn Photography eNews 3
I’ve whipped up a few eNewsletters now, but designing for Rob Frith allows a little more creativity and personality to be injected… in fact, it’s de rigueur! So I broke out the fat Texta and drew a couple of loose illustrations as changeable headers for Rob’s amusing missives.

Just received Rob’s first info-tainment instalment this morning – funny to see my design sitting in the Inbox – and looking forward to reading more of Rob & his gang’s shootings.

Spring for Sure

City Beach September 11th

Now it feels like spring! Sunday morning we returned to our fave beachside place The Kiosk @ Floreat Beach (did I mention they make great pancakes? And it’s the spot for our annual Thunderbird Xmas meetup). Next we walked over the boardwalk to City Beach where Paul snapped the Surf Club building (a threatened species) & these shots of me gazing seaward – yeah it looks so planned but I didn’t even see him behind me.

Beautiful light, gorgeous spring day.

Moombaki, Country Style

Moombaki Wines Country Style spring 2011

Hey! my sister is in Country Style magazine!

It’s such a buzz to open a magazine and see your nearest and dearest featured in an article. The new Country Style spring edition features a story on Melissa, Dave & the boys and their country life making wonderful Moombaki wines and doing sustainable, responsible stuff on the land, all to the twittering of birdsong and the digging of dirt. (OK friends, you know Mel and I are somewhat different – soil never sullies my hands!)

And if you’re in the mood for some Spring drinking, the Moombaki shop has thoughtfully reorganised things so you can now make up your own mixed case.

This Country Style edition has some lovely photography and great stories to inspire your bucolic inclincations.
Something about the flowers on the cover appealed to Trixie:

Trixie loves Country Style

New Wheels

Herman Miller new aeron chair

I’m free-wheeling around my office on a fabulous new Aeron chair! A long-overdue replacement for the tired foam-cushioned office chair from last century. While still working out the levers & adjustments, I’m having fun imitating an exec leaning back in the power position. I love the Forward Tilt and my sacral dysfunction loves the posture-fitting Aeron form.

Trixie Florence Knoll fabric chair

I wish my work days could be spent lounging around like Trixie, but long hours at the computer require ergonomic considerations.
